Marriage & Relationship counselling

Couple counselling is at the heart of my work, providing an accepting environment to communicate and find solutions.  Whether it’s between a married couple, long term partners; LGBTQIA+ couples; family members such as relationships with elderly parents; teenage children and parents; friends; colleagues or your boss - relationships require compromise, understanding and hard work.

We can guarantee you that we will be there every step of your journey and will support, guide and facilitate the process with the aim of healing both of you as individuals and the relationship as a whole.

Individual counselling

This is a gentle, secure and non-judgemental space where we work together on a one-on-one basis.

The session is held in a safe, caring and confidential environment which establishes trust and facilitates healing.

Types of issues addressed in individual therapy:

  • Identifying feelings and beliefs which support you or which undermine you
  • Looking at struggles with self-esteem, self-forgiveness and intrapersonal processes
  • Creating techniques and coping skills
  • Working through childhood traumas and relationship issues
  • Establishing new supportive key habits to transform specific aspects of your life
  • Identifying and setting personal goals with strategies and action steps to achieve them
  • Dealing with emotional issues such as depression and anxiety
  • Self-discovery

We feel honoured to listen to your stories, holding your stories for you, going where they take me and then supporting and guiding you to a place of understanding and safety.

We enjoy working with people of all cultures, religious backgrounds, world views and sexual orientation and we look forward to walking the path together with you with compassion, understanding and healing.

Trauma counselling

Trauma is a very personal and individual experience.  While incidents such as rape or hijacking are part of trauma, this counselling deals with any experience which has affected you deeply. When it comes to your response, there is no experience which is too big or too small; no right or wrong, good or bad.  It’s part of the beauty but also the complexity and challenges of the human condition.  In our counselling sessions we will create a safe, supportive space for you to discuss your situation and trauma.

Trauma counselling can be challenging but the rewards of integrating your experiences and feeling whole as a result of the counselling are hugely empowering.

Reaching out can sometimes be the most difficult step.  Remember that support is here for you.  Most importantly, we all have the capacity to heal from our struggles and wounds.

Tween and Teen Counselling (12+ years)

Tween and teen counselling is a form of support designed for young people navigating the complex emotional, social, and developmental challenges of adolescence. At this stage, young people are developing their identity, independence, and coping skills, but may still struggle to fully understand or express their thoughts and feelings.

Through a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space, tweens and teens are guided to explore their emotions, build resilience, and develop healthy ways of coping with life’s challenges.

Young people may benefit from counselling when experiencing:

* Emotional outbursts
* Anxiety
* Depression
* Bullying
* Peer pressure & friendship conflict
* Stress (school, social, or family-related)
* Challenging behaviour
* Low motivation or withdrawal
* Attention difficulties
* Self-esteem and identity struggles
* Loss & bereavement
* Trauma

Counselling can also support tweens and teens in preparing for or adjusting to significant life changes such as family transitions, school changes, or other impactful events affecting their emotional wellbeing.
